Oh, the diversity!

Koda Kumi - LAST ANGEL feat. Tohoshinki (Dong Bang Shin Ki) Pop/Rock | Japanese | 8/10 Comments: Yeah, I really didn't know how to specify the genre of this song. I usually just put Koda Kumi's songs as R&B, because that's what most of them are, but this song has a rock-ish feel but it is definitely pop, so that's how I ended up with pop/rock. So, the whole scandal thing that centered around Koda Kumi really ticked me off, not at what Koda Kumi says, but just how everyone reacted to it because it really wasn't that big of a deal, and Koda Kumi is an awesome musician. The reason why I like this song is that it's really catchy, and I absolutely ADORE Dong Bang Shin Ki, and hearing them with Koda Kumi is awesome. This does have a rock-ish feel to it and the boys and Kumi really do well here; their performance at DBSK's T concert was just amazing. It didn't really capture me at first listen, but then I got used to it, and it became one of my favorite songs. Try it out! Download /

JJ Lin - K-O Pop | Mandarin | 10/10 Comments: JJ Lin is one of my absolute favorite musicians ever, EVER! He's so talented, his songs are all awesome, and I believe he writes all of them which is awesome! K-O is off his West Side album and it's one of my favorite. I really like JJ Lin's more faster paced, R&B-ish songs rather than his slower poppy ones mainly because they're ALWAYS so catchy to me. K-O is one of his faster tracks, and it's really easy to get into, because it has an awesome beat, and I like the urgent tone to the song. The rap parts of his songs are always fun to listen to, but not my favorite. There are just a lot of elements to this song that, when put together, creates an awesome piece. It's not just JJ Lin singing the whole time, it's a lot of things, and the violins in the back help with just gluing every part of the song together. Anyway, JJ Lin has one of the best voices I know and he knows how to create awesome music. I can't wait until his upcoming album comes out next month! Recommended Download /

Katou Kazuki - melody (Dual N Remix) Indie | Japanese | 9/10 Comments: Yay, I love Katou Kazuki! If you don't know him and you listen to Japanese music, he's the guy who played Atobe Keigo in the Prince of Tennis musical. I don't know much about the musical, but I do know Katou Kazuki is a good singer. He's not absolutely AMAZING, but he's good, and this is one of my favorites songs of his. It's actually the song that made me notice him more. I usually just breeze by his songs and listen to it once and that's it, but I could not stop listening to this song, I don't know why. The original melody song is a summer ballad, and it's basically Kazuki singing with piano and other nice instruments in the back. He sounds really good in there, but I like this version a lot better. Whenever I listen to this song, I just feel so calm. Like if I'm angry about something, I can seriously just listen to this and I don't feel like being angry anymore. Unlike the original, Kazuki's voice seems a little more far off in this song, but even he sounds more calm and peaceful. There's a lot of nice, futuristic sound effects in here, and the echoes of the music and Kazuki's voice are really cook. So, if you want to calm down or if you want to listen to a song to fall asleep to, I think this is the song for you. It's REALLY cool, and I love singing along with the chorus when he goes "melodeeeeee..." Download /

Jade Valerie New Folk | English | 9/10 Comments: I think the order I am doing for the songs in this rotation are faster songs to calmer songs. If you don't know Jade valerie, she's the one who sang both the English versions of the main songs in Final Fantasy X-2, Real Emotion and 1000 Words. That's when she was under Sweetbox, but I guess she broke off from them and started another project using her name. Her mini album was really nice, not that amazing, but it was very refreshing to listen to. Goodbye is the last track off the album. Jade sounds absolutely AMAZING in here, she really shows off her voice in this song. And the fact that there aren't so many instruments in the background contributes to the power she puts forth in her voice. The lyrics are really nice and tells a story of what I interpret as just a confused girl who isn't perfect and is at a point of her life where she's just confused and wants to be forgiven for the wrong she's done. It's a really beautiful song, and you really should listen to it. :) Recommended. Download /

Last Friends - Prisoner Of Love Instrumental | N/A | 10/10 | Comments: Last Friends was one of the best Japanese dramas I have ever watched. It really touched me throughout, and one of the reasons if it being such a touching drama is because of the background music. And this has to be the best background track in the whole drama. Utada Hikaru's Prisoner Of Love is a beautiful song, and when turned instrumental, it's absolutely heartbreaking. This song was always played at the more depressing parts of the show, so that's why it sounds sad to me, but it does have a really down feeling to it. Don't let that scare you though, it's an amazing piece of music, and even though in the beginning it sounds sad, that mood sorta kinda goes away when it gets around to the 2 and half minute mark where the instruments are louder. I just love every part of it. Recommended. Download /

Dong Bang Shin Ki - Love In The Ice Pop | Japanese | 100000/10 Comments: Yeah, I think I put this song up at least twice before but I felt like putting it up again. I've had to probably listen to this song at the least 100 times. It's my favorite song EVER and I will never, ever get sick of it. Dong Bang Shin Ki is one of the most talented singing groups ever, they're hands down my favorite band, and this, in my opinion, they're best song. Every one of them sounds PERFECT in here, and they really sound like they're singing from their heart. Watch their performances for this on youtube as well, it'll take your breath away. Even if you can't understand it, and I can't it, you'll love it. Definitely Recommended. Download /
